RAINBOW QUARTZ

Fondly known by healers as a 'Rainbow', this airy term covers any quartz or quartz family member that is displaying one or more internal rainbows.

There are two very different schools of thought about the rainbow and how and why they emerge, one from the healers point of view and of course the more scientific one…and strangely it is my opinion that both are correct and actually go somewhat hand in hand.

It is without doubt that if there is no internal fracture in a quartz then there is no Rainbow. So mineral miners and scientists will tell you 'it's damage' pure and simple.
When a quartz is mined it is delivered to the world usually covered in clay and dirt from a very cold temperature.
Geologists will tell you that when it hits the light and begins to heat up rapidly it causes thermal stress and the rapid pressure causes the internal structure of the quartz to crack. Many miners do their very best to prevent this by plunging the quartz into cold water or wrapping it in wet rags. But often they crack anyway…..why…why would they crack anyway?

Healers will tell you, they crack to release the rainbow, that the rainbow is not a result of the crack but the crack is the result of the rainbow, as it releases the beautiful colours hidden within so that mankind can see them and be given light, colour and hope. What more evocative symbols is there for light at the end of the tunnel than a rainbow.

Personally I have several rainbows in my healing room. They didn't start out as rainbows, many appeared that way some time after I began using them for treatments and they have never been knocked or damaged to achieve this.

I also sold rainbows, when I could find them in my shop, they sat beneath the hot lights of the cabinets and were as warm as toast, so you'd think you'd see no variation in the rainbows from the time they had suffered internal fractures from mining. Wrong…taken from the warmth of the cabinets and placed in the hands of an admirer they began to display like a peacock. The patterns getting bigger, the colours more vivid, even changing colour, previously hidden rainbows emerging.

I have shown my personal crystals to clients before treatments and they have been stunned at the end to find the same plain quartz giving a dazzling display of colour. They seem to bloom when being used for healing.

So are the miners right, just cracks? Well I think there is some truth in that but it is just the beginning and the fact that no two quartz points will crack internally when raised from the same temperature and subjected to the same conditions shows that those that do crack and release rainbows do so for a reason, for them it is like being born to their purpose

.

They are proudly showing their True Colours and when the time comes they will use those very colours to attract those that need them. Those that need colour and hope and light because the Rainbow Quartz is a very special healing quartz. They saturate the holder with the colour vibration of the rainbow, they bring light and comfort to the severely depressed, helping to eliminate harmful thoughts and patterns that are stopping the person from becoming well again. They bring good fortune and a belief of better things ahead, …….just over the Rainbow.
