MURANO COLOURED VASE
This lovely vintage Murano vase has a fascinating and tactile shape. The colours are beautifully blended and are vivid and bright.
Very solid with a heavy twisted base. It has a full pontil mark showing that it was hand blown.
Murano's amazing reputation began as early as 1291 when the local glass blowers were ordered by the Venetians to move into the republic for fear of fires being caused and the loss of their many wooden buildings. Today Murano still make art glass on the island and it is revered the world over for it's beauty and collect-ability.
This piece is in excellent condition for it's age.

Pure quality' sums up this delightful vintage clear glass vase, created by the highly reputable Swedish glass manufacturers Orrefors. The walls of this piece are nearly 2cms thick and it's crisp clean clarity and swirling movement makes this an eye-catcher for any of today's contemporary homes. It has a dramatic functional shape or would draw in light as a window piece.
Hand signed on the bottom with Orrefors and an identifying number.
Note: Minute graze 1/3 rd from the bottom.
